2025年Chinaway项目培训

随着中国综合国力的提升，英语教育水平的提高，以及中美文化上的冲突等因素，Chinaway项目将根据中方的需求与美国高中生的能力，对教学内容做以下调整。调整后的教学主要有以下几个方面：

教自我介绍: 自我介绍是当今申请任何机会的必须技能，这个介绍不是简单的几句话，而是要对自身形象的塑造。美方学生的示范英语至少要10分钟，要有几个典型人物的经历或能力的英语表达。

教专题讨论: 专题讨论是锻炼学生有效收集信息，组织思想，语言表达与逻辑能力的实践活动，专题讨论能看出分析问题辩解问题，阐明问题的能力。中方希望加强他们学生对各种专题的英语表达。美方学生要准备各种专题的专业词汇与理论表述，然后辅导或协助中方学生准备专题对话。

教辩论赛: 辩论赛不仅仅是一场语言的较量，更是思维、知识与沟通技巧的综合表现，可以培养批判性思维，增强公共表达能力。锻炼用英语辨论，可以增强中国学生讲好中国理论，思想等的能力。美方学生要全英文讲述辩论赛的方法与规则，然后辅导与参与中方学校组织的辩论赛。

创作与表演英语舞台剧: 剧本创作可以培养学生的创造性，表演能锻炼表达能力，演讲能力。围绕都江堰相关主题创作几个优秀英语舞台剧，是中方学校组织这个活动的目标之一。用舞台剧表演的方式也更适合锻炼中国孩子开口说英语的要求。美方学生要先示范简单的英语舞台剧，教低年级的孩子表演舞台剧，协助都江堰高中生编写舞台剧。

由于上述教学难度相当大，没有很好的准备与培训，难以完成这个中国支教，所以从今年开始，我们要提前进行Chinaway项目的培训，以真正达到“帮助他人，提高自己”的目的。

With the improvement of China's national strength, the level of English education has been greatly improved. With the cultural conflict between China and the US, the Chinaway Program will make the following adjustments to meet the needs of China.

Teach self-introduction: Self-introduction is a necessary skill to apply for any opportunity and this introduction is not a simple few words, but to create a good image of yourself. American students' demonstration should be at least 10 minutes。 Provide several typical characters/ability self-descriptions English.

Teach the panel discussion: Thematic discussion is a practical activity that exercises students' ability to effectively collect information, organize thoughts, language expression and logic. The panel discussion can identify and analyze problems, explain problems and clarify problems. The Chinese want to strengthen their students' English expression on various topics. The American students should prepare professional vocabulary and theoretical expressions for various topics, and then tutor or assist the Chinese students in preparing the dialogues.

Teach debating competitions: The debate competition is not only a contest of language, but also a comprehensive performance of thinking, knowledge and communication skills, which can cultivate critical thinking and enhance public expression ability. Practicing argumentation in English can enhance the ability of Chinese students to speak Chinese theories and ideas well. The American students should explain the methods and rules of the debate competition in English, and then tutor and participate in the debate competition organized by the Chinese school.

Create and perform English drama: Script writing can cultivate students' creativity, and performance can exercise their ability of expression and speech. The creation of several excellent English drama around Dujiangyan related topics is one of the goals for this activity. The way of stage performance is also more suitable for training Chinese children to speak English. American students should first demonstrate simple English stage plays, teach lower grade children to perform stage plays, and assist high school students to write stage plays.

Since the above teaching is quite difficult and without good preparation and training, it is difficult to complete the volunteer work. Therefore, starting from this year, we will conduct the training of Chinaway project in advance, so as to truly achieve the purpose of "helping others and improving ourselves".

培训的内容与报名

培训将事先训练孩子的表达能力与技巧，准备专题讨论，辩论赛等的知识背景与语言；了解剧本创作，提前编写剧本与排演；了解更深的中国文化，学习场景式表演教学的精髓，为暑假的义工教学准备完备的知识内容与教学技巧。

培训时间：从11月初开始，共10次，具体上课时间报名后通知；

培训形式：zoom 课堂讲解 + 小组项目练习。

Training content and registration

**义工小时计算**

所有认真参加培训，完成作业的同学，如果暑假参加了Chinaway支教，都将获得义工小时。现在都江堰中学每年给我们的支教时间最多有60小时。所以事前培训，准备好内容是获得义工小时的重要部分。

参加Chinaway项目培训的同学将优先获得参加都江堰项目的资格；培训成绩优秀的学生将担任项目的小组长；所有参加了Chinaway项目培训的学生将免除项目报名费用。

All students in the training and complete the homework will receive volunteer hours if they participate in Chinaway volunteer Program in the summer. Now Dujiangyan Middle School gives us a maximum of 60 hours of volunteer teaching time every year. So practice and preparing the content is an important part of getting volunteer hours.

Students who participate in Chinaway program will be given priority to participate in Dujiangyan program; Students with excellent training results will serve as team leaders of the project; All students who participate in Chinaway program training will be exempt from program enrollment fees.

2024 Chinaway Volunteer Program

项目背景

Chinaway Volunteers Program 是连续了十几年的暑假义工项目。这个项目的口号是“帮助他人，提高自己”。在过去的16年里，该项目不仅帮助中国农村及乡镇孩子学习英语口语，美国文化，以及用英文表达中国文化；也培养了美国学生的领导能力，表达能力，于此同时美国学生也提高了中文水平，演讲水平，开阔了学生的国际视野，学会了如何完成现实中的任务。参加这个项目的学生几乎都进入了美国名校。

当今世界，中国与美国是并行于世界的两大社会体系，治国理念，文化传统，管理规则，道德价值等等都有相当的不同。但两个国家的交流合作，或竞争冲突在世界舞台上又扮演了非常重要的作用，所以了解中国，了解不同于西方体系的社会运作系统在世界上如何发挥作用，是非常重要的，对在美国追求卓越的人拥有极大的启迪作用，而此项目能让学生通过实践深入的了解与认识中国。

Program Background

Chinaway Volunteers Program is a summer volunteer program that has been running for more than 10 years. The program's slogan is "Help Others, Improve Yourself". Over the past 16 years, the program has not only helped children in rural China and townships to learn spoken English, American culture, express Chinese culture in English; it has also developed American students' leadership and presentation skills, as well as allowed American students to improve their Chinese, speaking skills, broaden their international vision, and to learn how to accomplish real-world tasks. Almost all the students in this program have attend high ranking Universities.
