2017年我们将一如既往的推出到都江堰的支教项目。都江堰既有中国古代文明的传承,又得益于地震重建的世界志愿者精神。那里的广大乡村,城镇的孩子,城市贫民的孩子依然缺乏了解外界信息的窗口,同时农村孩子接触海外事务的机会更少.关爱他人,传播爱心,明天的美好是让每个孩子都有知识,有修养,有见识,所以支教乡村,让闭塞的乡村孩子可以了解外面的世界,少一些常识缺陷,世界多一个理性,健康的孩子。
帮助乡村孩子,给他们交流,也要求自己是一个有知识,有见解,有能力的孩子。在帮助他人中,自己一定能得到提高,还可以了解世界的多样性,中华文明的具体特点,找到自己的擅长与激情。参与社会实践,用自己的知识,特长服务社会,为孩子走向社会,解决现实社会的真正问题是一个非常好的锻炼与人生预演。暑假支教,将提高你解决问题的能力,提高你的中文水平,挑战你的组织能力,生活适应能力。
支教内容:

都江堰高中:中国初三毕业(相当美国9年级毕业)的孩子,主要教学介绍美国高中校园生活,美国文化,美国大学申请,辩论赛。
Dujianyan Teaching Program ((June 17, 2017 to July 1, 2017. Quota: 20)
We will continue to offer the Dujianyan Teaching Program in 2017.
Dujianyan is an ancient town full of Chinese culture. After the big earthquake in 2008, Dujianyan received many help from volunteers from all over the world to rebuild, though there are many more poor children in the vast villages who still lack the opportunity to learn and be in touch with the outside world. Through caring for others and spreading the love, we can make a better tomorrow by letting all the children become knowledgeable and well rounded. Therefore, teaching in the rural places will instill children in the countryside with the basic knowledge of the world and help them in becoming a mentally healthy person with rationale.
In order to help children in the countryside, the volunteer students are required to have a perspective and be capable. Through the process of helping others, the students can improve themselves by finding their own strengths and passion while learning about the world’s diversity and Chinese culture. Doing volunteer work in the outside is a great opportunity to prepare students for the real world. Overall, the teaching program should be able to help improve student’s problem solving skills, level of Chinese language as well as gain leadership and adaptability.
The Volunteer contents include:
· Introducing American culture to rural and economically disadvantaged children;
· Giving oral English class to children in the countryside
· Understanding Chengdu’s countryside and Communicating with local children
· Visiting the home of the rural children’s home and learn about the rural culture and problems
· Visiting local landmarks and understanding traditional Chinese culture
· Volunteering at the Giant Panda Conservation Center and learning about how to protect pandas

Possible School to teach:
Xu Jian Elementary School: Volunteers should integrate local teaching materials and let children practice speaking English, introduce American culture, and have fun little exercises such as writing stories from a picture.
DujianyanTechnical High School: Volunteers should introduce American culture such as living style, transportations, working environment, etc. , as well as teach them English vocabulary words based on their major.
Dujianyan High School: Volunteers should introduce American culture, American high school lives, the college application process, and set up debate competitions.
2016童子军辅导项目 - 指导中国童子军

美国的童子军活动,是美国社会锻炼孩子的领导能力、吃苦能力、动手能力、自律能力、合作意识、关爱社会、担负责任的重要民间教育训练项目。美国孩子从小就被鼓励参加童子军的训练,从几岁一直到高中毕业。得到美国童子军的最高奖章的孩子,将会成为美国社会未来的领导人与优秀公民。在中国社会越来越希望融入世界潮流的过程中,中国的孩子需要接受一点“美国式”的童子军训练。
2016年Chinaway志愿者项目,与中国体验教育机构中联明途教育合作,为中国的童子军活动注入真正的美国元素, 邀请美国有童子军经历的高中生,作为辅助老师,同时在培训项目过程中,为中国孩子提高口语,介绍美国文化。参与这个项目,可以在帮助中国小孩子的同时,锻炼你的管理能力,领导能力,教学能力,中文能力,同时加深对中国历史,地理,文化的整体认识。义工内容包括:
参与童子军的全程培训:包括野外拓展,徒步穿越,西部马术,中国农活,传统手工,荒野生存,山地生存等(每个美国学生参与的小组不同,参与的项目不同)
参与营期对中国孩子的管理,当他们的小老师。
每天给中国孩子辅导口语课,组织英语主题的活动。
介绍美国文化。
参观北京名胜古迹,了解中国文化。

Guiding Chinese Boy/Girl Scout

The Boy Scouts of America, one of the most important education and service organizations in the United States, helps young US boys/ girls to develop their leadership and dexterity, learn to endure hardship, acquire self-discipline, cooperate in groups, care for society and assume responsibilities. From a young age, American children are encouraged to participate in this organization and those that achieve the highest Scout honor often become illustrious members of American society. Wishing to integrate itself into world trends, China feels a need to involve their children in American experiences such as the Boy/Girl Scouts.
The 2016 Chinaway Volunteer Program, in cooperation with Chinese Experience Education Institution, wishes to incorporate real American elements into the Boy Scouts of China. To achieve this, we invite American Boy Scout high schoolers to serve as teaching assistants to instill American values as well as teach the Chinese students about American language and culture. By participating in the program, student volunteers will not only help others, but will also exercise their leadership, management, teaching and Chinese abilities. They will also learn about Chinese history, geography and culture as a whole.
This program includes:
Participating fully in Boy Scout training (e.g. traditional arts and crafts, horse-riding, Chinese field labor, forest and mountain wilderness survival, and other outdoor activities). Every member will participate in a different activity with a different group.
Participating in the Boy Scouts of China camp management
Teaching English and organizing daily language activities
Introducing and explaining American culture
Sightseeing Beijing and understanding Chinese culture

Chinaway Volunteers Program 缘起于2008年四川汶川大地震。那时汶川,都江堰周围地区的众多学校受到大地震的破环,非常需要社会的关爱与帮助,因为这个原因,加州华人社团,中文学校与四川及都江堰建立了公益资助联系,开始了暑假到四川地区公益支教并给当地学校捐赠教学用品的活动。这个活动到现在已经连续举办了十几年,这就是Chinaway Volunteers Program的由来。
Chinaway Volunteers Program的初衷是帮助中国灾区,帮扶中国贫乏的教育资源,但项目进行到今天,这个暑假义工项目的功能更多的是锻炼美国高中学生,拓展他们的国际视野,加强加深他们对中国文化,中国社会的了解。Chinaway Volunteers Program项目的口号是“帮助他人,提高自己”。在过去的17年里,该项目走进中国县镇学校,帮助中国孩子开口说英语,介绍惯用英语与美国文化;进入中国社区与农村,举办公益双语夏令营,让中国乡村的孩子可以感受国际的文化与视野,与中国学生一起编排英语表演剧,让中国学生可以更好的用英文表达自己,宣传中国的文化,讲述中国的故事。在这些活动中,可以大大地锻炼美国学生的领导能力,表达能力,极大地提高了他们的中文水平,演讲水平。参加义工支教增加了美国学生对中国社会的认识,开阔了他们的国际视野,学会了如何完成现实中的任务。因而参加这个项目的美国学生几乎都进入了美国名校,成为了非常优秀的青年。
当今世界,中国与美国是并行于世界之巅的两大文明体系与社会系统。它们在价值概念,治国手段,文化传统,管理规则,生活方式等等都有极大的不同。但两个国家的交流,合作,竞争,冲突在世界舞台上又扮演了非常重要的作用,所以了解中国,了解不同于西方体系的社会运作系统,对美国,对世界的发展都是非常重要的,对追求卓越人生的青年是必要的知识储备,而对于华人可能还是开托一方人生的未来舞台。因此当前这个义工项目,更多的是一个领导力培养项目,在教学实践中,锻炼能力,培养创造力,启迪人生,深入了解与认识中国体系,一个优秀的文明,为自己准备更完备的知识与眼界。
The Chinaway Volunteers Program originated from the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake in Sichuan Province. At that time, many schools in Wenchuan and Dujiangyan areas were devastated by the earthquake and were in great need of social care and help. For this reason, California Chinese Association and Chinese School established a public welfare funding relationship with Sichuan and Dujiangyan, and began to volunteer teaching in Sichuan during the summer vacation and donate teaching supplies to local schools. This event has been held continuously for more than 17 years now, which is the origin of the Chinaway Volunteers Program.
The original intention of Chinaway Volunteers Program is to help the disaster areas in China and the poor educational resources in China. However, today, the function of this summer volunteer program is more to train American high school students, expand their international vision, and strengthen their understanding of Chinese culture and Chinese society. The slogan of Chinaway Volunteers Program is "Help others, improve yourself". Over the past 17 years, the program has entered Chinese county and town schools to help Chinese children speak English and introduce idiomatic English and American culture; Enter Chinese communities and rural areas, hold a bilingual summer camp for public welfare, so that rural Chinese children can feel the international culture and vision, and arrange English performances with Chinese students, so that Chinese students can better express themselves in English, promote Chinese culture, and tell Chinese stories. In these activities, American students can greatly exercise their leadership and expression skills, and greatly improve their Chinese and speech skills. Participating in volunteer teaching increases American students' understanding of Chinese society, broadened their international vision, and learns how to complete real-life tasks. Therefore, almost all the American students who participated in this program entered the famous American universities and became very outstanding young people.
In today's world, China and the United States are two civilizations and social systems that run parallel to each other. They have great differences in value concepts, governance methods, cultural traditions, management rules, lifestyles, etc. However, the exchanges, cooperation, competition, and conflicts between the two countries play a very important role on the world stage. Therefore, understanding China and understanding the social operation system that is different from the Western system is very important for the development of the United States and the world. It is a necessary knowledge reserve for young people who pursue an outstanding life, and it may still open up a future stage for Chinese people. Therefore, this current volunteer project is more of a leadership training project. In teaching practice, it exercises ability, cultivates creativity, enlightens life, and deeply understands and recognizes the Chinese system, an excellent civilization, and prepares more complete knowledge and vision for oneself.

This year, Chinaway will be providing volunteers once again to Chengdu earthquake stricken areas such as Dujiangyan, Penzhou, Deyang, Mianzhu, Mianyang and Beichuan. The development of these places has relied solely on global volunteers. The rural and economically disadvantaged children of China have not had opportunities to understand the world outside their communities. However, the future requires that each and every child be knowledgeable and well-rounded. Therefore, by teaching children in the countryside, our society will become better. Student volunteers will be able to improve themselves, find passions and understand the diversity of the world through teaching and providing information to rural children. Furthermore, they will be able to improve their leadership skills and Chinese capabilities.
The program includes:
Introducing American culture to rural and economically disadvantaged children;
Teaching spoken English to the children
Understanding the Chengdu countryside profoundly and visiting the local cultural landscape;
Volunteering at the Giant Panda Conservation Center and learning about how to protect pandas;

At the Mianyang Institute of Technology, volunteers will teach high speed train attendants oral English used in ordering (food, services, etc.), giving directions, explaining train schedules, and introducing themselves to passengers.
At the primary and middle schools in Dujiangyan, volunteers will integrate local teaching material by teaching spoken English, American culture, and paragraph writing based on a picture.
At the high school in Dujiangyan, volunteers will introduce American high school life, community service, school subjects, college applications and debate competitions.

四川大学两周国际身临其境学习项目(UIP)从2012年开始举办,每年暑假召集世界各地学有所长的教授到四川大学给四川大学的本科生研究生用英语上课。这个项目同时也接受国际学生,目的是让中国学生更感性的了解国际教育,拥有国际视野,了解世界其他国家的学术水平与学术风格,同时给中国学生结交国际朋友的机会。
