Chinaway 项目是利用暑假到中国乡镇教授英语口语，英语表演与美国文化的一项义工与领导力培训项目，今年是它第18年。根据时代的发展，到中国的英语教学将越来越注重帮助中国学生开口用英语讲好中国的故事。所以今年的英语教学将主要专注于创造英语短剧，练习英语专题讨论，辩论，用英语讲好中国的故事。随着AI应用的普及，写出优美的英语已不是难事，但标准的读音仍是中国学生欠缺的。故本次支教活动将锻炼孩子使用AI写作，提高创意能力，培养演讲能力，领导能力，了解中国的发展。现确定支教的地方是中国都江堰，温江，成都周围。

项目时间：2026年6月20日至7月18日，分两期。第一期：6/20 ~7/4; 第二期：7/4 ~ 7/18（所有时间都是中国时间）

项目内容：进入当地学校，社区，新农村，给当地的学生教授英语口语，排练英语短剧，练习英语日常表达，学习英语辩论赛或英语专题讨论以及英语阅读与美国文化；与中国社区，乡村进行文化交流；当中国暑假课堂，夏令营的小老师或老师助理；学习英语剧本创作，到大熊猫基地体验当饲养员；参观当地文化古迹。

要做的事：进入乡镇学校课堂，社区教室，主持教授英语对话，演讲，辩论，或表演剧.给小学生教授美国歌曲或诗歌。给中国创意剧目配音。中国学生年级可能涵盖小学1年级到大学生。美国学生要自己编写教材，安排课程，管理课堂，教学的目标是让参加活动的中国孩子，学校课堂的学生都能开口说英语。组织当地的公益夏令营，要教授的课程包括，但不限于：英语对话，唱歌，跳舞，英语剧，美国游戏，绘画等，做中国老师助理，将中国老师的课堂内容简单翻译为英语，让中国学生提高英语词汇，准确发音，丰富国际视野。

Project Introduction

The Chinaway project is a volunteer and leadership training program that utilizes summer vacations to teach spoken English, English performance, and American culture in rural towns and cities in China. This year is this project running 18th year. With the times changing, English teaching in China will increasingly focus on helping Chinese students speak English and tell China's story effectively. Therefore, the teaching will primarily focus on creating English short plays, practicing English topical discussions and debates, and telling China's story in English. With the widespread application of AI, writing beautiful English is no longer difficult, but standard pronunciation is still lacking for Chinese students. Therefore, this teaching program will train children to use AI for writing, improve their creativity, cultivate their public speaking and leadership skills, and help them understand China's development. The teaching locations are Dujiangyan, Wenjiang, and the area surrounding Chengdu, China.

Project time: June 20 to July 18, 2026, divided into two phases. Phase 1: June 20 to July 4; Phase 2: July 4 to July 18 (all times are China time)

Project content: Enter local schools, communities, new villages, teach local students spoken English, rehearse English drama, practice daily English expression, learn English debate or English discussion, English reading and American culture; conduct cultural exchanges with Chinese communities and villages; serve as a teacher or teacher assistant in Chinese summer classes and summer camps; learn about Chinese culture and experience being a keeper at a giant panda base; and visit local cultural relics.

Task in Program: Enter the classrooms of rural schools and community classrooms, host and teach English dialogues, speeches, debates, or perform plays. Teach American songs or poems to primary school students. Provide voiceovers for Chinese creative plays. The grades of Chinese students may cover from the first grade of primary school to college students. American students have to write their own teaching materials, arrange courses and manage classrooms. The goal of teaching is to enable Chinese children participating in activities and students in school classrooms to speak English. Organize local public welfare summer camps. The courses to be taught include, but are not limited to: English conversations, singing, dancing, English plays, American games, painting, etc. Serve as an assistant to Chinese teachers, simply translate the classroom content of Chinese teachers into English, and help Chinese students improve their English vocabulary, pronunciation, and broaden their international perspective.
